Historical walks

The land around the Manor is filled with historical sites. The first document refering to the area dates back to 1336.
You can walk along a path and follow a rich history. From the gates, down in the creek flowing through the little ravine ending at the wide river Klarälven. It is a walk of more than 1200 metres.
Over the years watermills, sawmills and ironworks were a part of everyday working life. Some of the workers homes still stand today.
Nature walks
Along the river ravine you find interesting biotopes mixed with historical remains.
There are many good locations to go bird watching and rare plants to discover.

Go cycling on the Cykelleden Klarälvsbanan
There is a newly laid, 90 km long, bicycle and in-line track along the old railway embankment.
It runs through a well renowned landscape filled with natural beauty and history.
The track passes through Forshaga, close to Kvarntorps Herrgård - 300 meters, Deje, Munkfors and Råda up to Uddeholm.
There is a natural rest stop at Kvarntorps Herrgård. 

Go canoeing from our beach.
Canoeing in the wilderness for hours or days. Along streams and rivers mainly without see any people but elks, beavers, wolfs or other wild animals.

At the torrence along our land and the river Klarälven there are several species of fish as you can fish. 
Here there are great opportunities of rich and varied recreational fishing and a lot of different waters to choose from.
You can go fly fishing or spinning for salmon and salmon trout in the Klarälven River.
We boasts some of the best salmon fishing waters in the Nordic countries.

Go to Forshagaforsens Sport Fish Center very close to Kvarntorp.
